Community Welding Day in Springfield Missouri
Posted on April 11th, 2009 No commentsIn Springfield, Missouri, the Ozarks Technical Community College is hosting a Community Welding Day as a fundraiser for the March of Dimes. Citizens can bring in all sorts of items to the Welding Lab and have students repair them including those made of aluminum.
Boat repairs, wheelbarrows, barbeque grills, window frames and much more can be brought in for the students to repair. Community Welding Day is a chance for students to pay it forward and get hands on experience in their future professions.
At a time when the economy is faltering, unemployment is higher than its been in 30 years and charitable organizations are having a hard time collecting cash, it’s still good to know that the spirit of giving is still alive.

Brazing Aluminum
Posted on April 10th, 2009 No commentsAnyone can repair or fabricate aluminum & cast aluminum stronger than a welding machine using just a torch with HTS-2000 brazing rods, repair any metal.” Aluminum brazing is a popular method for repair all sorts of aluminum base metals. With many other products on the market aluminum brazing requires tighter process parameters than most other brazing processes because of the closeness of the melting point of the braze filler metal and the base metal. Not so, however, with our HTS-2000 second-generation brazing rod, which has a melting point 500-degrees less than aluminum.
When brazing aluminum with our products, the affected area actually becomes stronger than the surrounding areas. You will never see a crack or break in the same place twice. Besides our industrial-strength aluminum brazing rod, all you will need is a heat source (propane or mapp gas), a turbo tip, or oxy-acetylene, and a free moment. No welding machine or furnace is necessary.
